I used the redesign process of my personal website as an opportunity to explore modern improvements and additions to the CSS specification while making JavaScript support optional rather than a strict requirement.
The animations, accordion, carousel, and lightbox have all been achieved using HTML5 and CSS3 only. JavaScript was only necessary to add a slight polish to the experience and provide automatic hyphenation for browsers that do natively support it.
Overall the redesign resulted a cleaner, lighter codebase as well as faster loading times.
