Lynn Cyr - UX & UI Designer

Location: Boston
Typical budget: Over $50,000

I take confusing, complex web and mobile applications and transform them into easy to use, engaging, and efficient user experiences. My goal is to make the whole interactive experience less frustrating, more productive, and more satisfying.

I’ve been a User Experience Designer since before the term even existed. Since 1996, I’ve got well over 250 projects under my belt (yes, I actually counted them), and I now consult for clients all over the U.S., with projects ranging from data-heavy financial systems to business portals, for well-funded startups all the way to many Fortune 100 companies. My main focus is on rich internet applications, mostly B2B and SaaS companies.

I know that ongoing, open communication is crucial to a projects’ success. I believe in strict adherence to scheduling and budget constraints, yet my flexible and collaborative nature makes it easy for me to tailor my process to each of my clients’ individual needs. I’m a true Type A personality — staying organized, constantly learning and improving, and being self-driven are just some of the qualities that have made me successful for the past 20 years.

UX design is problem-solving at its core; my natural curiosity is what drives me to ask the right questions in order to define the problem and clarify the user’s goals. My ultimate aim is to make the whole interactive experience less frustrating, more productive, and more satisfying, keeping the user’s own challenges and the business needs in mind.

I grew up in Canada, spent 10 years in Massachusetts, and have relocated to my home country in 2006, just across the border from northern Maine (yup, I’m way up there!). I now work remotely for my client base, which mostly remains in and around the Boston area. When I’m not obsessing over UX design, you can find me in my art studio working on my other passion: painting.
